Fancy dress day challenge; canceled
Thursday, March 26, 2020
I tried to post a blog the other day but there were technical difficulties (?). Fancy dress day was canceled, so hard for all! It was such a motivating force for me, and it took me a minute to shake that off - mourn the dress that may never see the light of day (for good reasons - it is unlikely to fit by the time fancy dress day is rescheduled as my end goal is not too far off but its already loose!) For our son and future DIL, it is so much more than a canceled wedding event; she is German and now Visa issues are cropping up with her paperwork stuck in purgatory. We have our health and the means to pay our bills, so life is just fine otherwise. Just some sadness to work through, and unknowns for all.
So, week two with the littles home from school. At first, it was just hyper-focused on home schooling and working (my job is remote anyway, and continues on - with a lot more distraction both at home and with all the responding to and supporting us through the pandemic), then I noticed the constant grazing - and no gym to go to! So I got strict with myself and my habits and I'm back on course. And so pleased, my weight this am reflected I've continued to lose and am completely on track to hit what would have been my interim goal on Fancy Dress Day - and a total of 25 pounds to date since I buckled down mid-November.
So now I'll mark my birthday to be the next interim goal (3 pounds in 3 weeks) and the final goal by the first day of summer - 11 pounds remaining till maintenance (so 12 weeks for 11 more pounds). This is done by wise eating, continuing with my 5:2 way of life, and modest exercise. I'm working on step goals (nice day yesterday and got almost 14K - I'm usually lucky to hit 7K!), and 30 day challenges as well (30 days arms challenge has been pretty good, I think I'm doing 30 day abs next month)
Thinking alot about those who are struggling during this pandemic, trying to help local businesses where we can, and showing our kids the importance of kindness especially in times like these. Most importantly, staying home, staying off the news too much, and enjoying this time with our little family.
