Day 86: Colorado is Closed

Thursday, March 26, 2020

"Just because I laugh a lot, doesn't mean my life is easy. Just because I have a smile on my face every day, doesn't mean that something is not bothering me. I just choose to move on, and not dwell on all the negatives in my life. Every new moment gives me the chance to renew anew. I choose to be that." (Author Unknown)

Day #14 Isolation
Mood: Still Annoyed

Hello, my lovely friends!

Well it happened, the whole state is now on lockdown. It amazes me how many people don’t listen and think they can go to the parks and play basketball. The weather has been so beautiful outside and everyone wants to be out in it. Oh speaking of crazy things. So all the golf courses are shut down except the one across the street from us. Why do you ask? Because our mayor lives in our community and wants to keep it open. What??? They have a restaurant that someone on our community page went to pick up food and noticed all the cars and then saw the golf course was packed with people golfing. Come on man!

I just can’t with stupid people anymore. I mean doesn’t your life matter? This is going to spread like a wildfire if we all don’t listen to what the experts are telling us. It’s simple stop being so selfish and think of other people. Did you hear that they consider Starbucks essential? Really you need that coffee so much? I know mist of you are feeling just as frustrated with people. I watched someone on Youtube just take a drive up to the mountains and met some friends up there. I was like no you people need to stay home.

We’re running low on veggies and for a moment I thought about running to the store to buy some things, but then another thought passed in my head. If I go then I would have to self-quarantine myself from my mom for two weeks just for some veggies? I think not. I’ve been online trying to put an order together but even the veggies are sold out right now in places.

We talked to my aunt and grandpa yesterday and all three are doing great. They’ve actually been on lockdown for three weeks now. My aunt went to the bank and in the drive-up there were about thirty cars. My uncle told his mom he won’t be going down her house anymore because his sister won’t stay home. She went up to the casinos and hanging out with friends and he can’t go over there and possibly bring something back to my grandpa. I’m glad they’re keeping him safe.

My sister also called and she’s a little stir-crazy, but she’s been staying home. While cleaning she found some Christmas presents that she forgot she had for the boys.

All is good over here. I hope things are going good where you’re at.

Stay safe. Big hugs and loves to you all!

    Great blog! emoticon

Your town's mayor sounds a bit off! They shouldn't keep one golf course open, if the other ones have to close.

It's the same everywhere - total chaos thanks to our ineffective leadership. Time to dump Trump.

Hope your mayor sees what he is doing is adding to the problem...others see him out golfing and
think it must be okay, so then they go do something.

I am glad they are protecting Gpa because he is very vulnerable.

Hope you are able to find some veggies...we got what we have on hand at Aldi's...they are all
pre-wrapped which made me feel better.

David fell Tuesday evening, so we had to go to the ER Wednesday morning to make sure he had
not broken anything. Thank God. Otherwise we are staying home, the only time I am out is when
I have to go to work to pickup dau. in law from work, now she has to take off her scrubs and shoes
outside on the back porch and zip in to the house, throwing the clothes in the washer as she goes

emoticon People just don't seem to be 'getting' it. Golf - another 'jet set' leisure activity, no wonder they are still spreading the virus. The lines at the Starbucks equivalent here are long too. People don't know how to make a cuppa or a smoothie at home? Truly interesting times. Stay healthy.

    Peace and Care

You nailed it. It IS tough to stay put, but . . . . also it can save not only your life but anyone around you that YOU may potentially infect if you don't know you have the virus.

Stay safe, stay well. You're being wise.

I can't understand one golf course being kept open while all the others are closed. But I do understand Starbucks. We have a lot of people who have to go to work and they deserve to have some perks for what they are going through. I agree with you on the fresh vegetables, it's not worth a shopping trip if you have to then stay away from your mom.

A blessing in disguise, she found Christmas gifts. LOL! I did that once too, I started to de-clutter my closet and I found Christmas gifts I had for my hubby and son. We just laughed cause I used to have a habit of always be late. Not anymore, but back then things were different.

I do understand the frustration of people being stupid. I once has a Maxine saying to the effect "So I see you had another bowl of stupid for breakfast" I use to keep it posted on my workplace bulletin board. Made me smile when I had to deal with some people.

Stay safe and hope all that you have ordered comes soon.

Yesterday the kid up the road had a “4wheelee, motorcycle, whatever” party. A ton of teenage boys RACING on the road—many 2 to a vehicle. It stopped really fast at one point..assuming someone called. Where are the parents?
My friend last night said in boulder people are sitting in the parks together drinking wine and having picnics.
I will never understand the mentality of some people...

When I heard quarantine I stocked up on frozen veggies - we are eating them. Glad you are staying safe. Most people here are complying, but still some idiots. They are going to start fining them or putting them in jail. KUDOS! Maybe they do a couple and the other morons will smarten up! Have a great day!
