I usually dislike stationary bike riding. today I did; 30 minutes while listening to a podcast: Ben Franklin's world.
I did a 3# hand weights routine I created 30 years ago. I do 2 minutes solid of each of 8 exercises for a total of 16 minutes. I used to do them while on a stat bike before work. I have always had a focus on cardio and weight training. sometimes successfully persistent but most times less.
I rowed in high school and college and always had old guys, (60s, 70s and 80 year olds) master oarsmen role models around to make fun of and later to secretly admire. One guy , maybe 90, looked like a skeleton on a shell. I loved those old guys when I got older! A couple were former Olympians in 1948 that I got to know. Harold Finnigan, was one He was rowing just before a race and a coach of a Ukrainian crew went by with his crew preparing for a big race in Phillly and recognized him, he yelled to Harold, "How old are you?" When he told his crew, that he knew him from the 1948 Olympics, and how old he was they all stopped and gave him a round of applause. Harold and my friend Shep were preparing to row in the Masters Doubles race the next day. These old guys now long ago dead, are still my inspiration!
