Some people have to pretend you're a bad person so they don't feel guilty about the things they did to you.
We’ve all had this done to us and we know it. And we’ve all done this to someone else and we know that too.
If we deny our guilt, we simply add to the damage already caused. In the end it’s better to acknowledge our guilt and make restitution. Pretending that people are bad so we can lesson our own guilty conscience is a lose/lose scenario. We’ll lose because we’ve denied what is actually true. They’ll lose because they’ve had to endure our denial on top of our original offense.
People don’t like being guilty or feeling guilty. But we should learn to appreciate how it serves us. Guilt is our friend and can serve us well if we let it.
