Getting settled in

Wednesday, March 04, 2020

Thanks to all SparkPeople who wished me well on moving and being in temp quarters right now. It isn't easy, as some of you pointed out. And, yes, I get the irony of "moving" not making "moving" easy--some fun comments there.

I'm finding ways of "moving" by working on organizing the stuff; moving boxes/bins and sorting stuff. We're slowly beginning to find things. AND the laundromat.... can walk around and around while loads cycle. But, high praise to those of you who do laundromats regularly! I bow to your persistance and resiliency.

Found out how far off the highway we are: walked to the mailbox and back and I logged 1,332 steps. So, taking down the garbage/bringing back the bin and going to the mailbox will certainly log me some steps. I'm still making daily goals a project, and I've found them helpful. If I know how my day is going, I can plan my activity in and around my agenda. Some days are easier than others, but I've found this to be helpful and will continue to do so.

These kinds of days should make my fitbit smile and get in some moving. And, if you're not yet signed up for the Spring 5% Challenge, put it on your to-do list. Great fun, motivation, encouragement and a chance to meet your goals.

I get to a laundry only when out big comforter needs to be washed, easier to put that big one there than trying to do it at home, and the drying goes faster there too with the big dryers. Glad that your getting settled into temporary quarters. My goodness those are some good steps you get by tking the garbage out and going to get the mail, you certainly can rack up some nice steps with those chores.

Wow, that's a long driveway! I can't even imagine having to do laundry in a laundromat anymore - pretty spoiled. But we do what we need to do, right! I'm happy to hear that you're settling in!
