Sugar Free for Life

Tuesday, March 03, 2020

My goal is to be sugar free for life. I've actually been succeeding at that, thank you, Lord. I haven't eaten (added) sugar since 6-29-19.

Here's what's helping me succeed:

I PRAY ALL THE TIME, EVERY DAY. I ask God to help me. I tell God that my life is His and ask Him to use me for His purposes. I ask Him to fill me to overflowing with his Holy Spirit. I praise Him.

I DO INTERMITTENT FASTING. I drink tea/coffee w/whole cream (& water) before 2:00 pm. I eat lunch at 2:00 and supper at 5:30. I don't eat after 6:00 pm.

I COOK EVERYTHING I EAT FROM SCRATCH. I pile on the veggies, fruit, meat/fish/eggs, rice, beans & olive oil. I don't eat much dairy or grains other than rice.

I TRACK EVERYTHING I EAT. I make sure I get enough calories (1200 - 1400 a day) and stay within approximate macro targets. (45% fat, 35% carbs, 20% protein.)

I KEEP BUSY WITH HOBBIES/ACTIVITIES TO MAKE LIFE MORE INTERESTING AND FUN. When I'm busy I don't obsess about food, and I don't need an emotional crutch:

Digital Scrapbooks Using a Computer Program
Physical Scrapbooks of the Kids' Schoolwork I've Saved Over the Years
Memorize Bible Verses Using the App "ScriptureTyper"
Singing Along with Praise Songs

I EXERCISE ON MY ELLIPTICAL & STATIONARY BIKE 45+ MINUTES 6 DAYS A WEEK WHILE I WATCH TV. Exercising used to be a pain. Now it keeps me happy. I found out I have to push myself - I have to do interval training (20 seconds working as hard as I can, 40 seconds recovery) for it to do any good.

I READ BOOKS: "The Sugar Addict's Total Recovery Program", "Live Right 4 Your Type", "From the First Bite", "Obesity Code"
