Weekend Update and New Workout Plan

Monday, March 02, 2020

Good morning, Friends! Worked on my goals over the weekend. I lost 1 pound and had a nice family dinner with my parents and one of my brothers and his son (his wife was sick and couldn't come). Itty Bitty is on the Praise Team at our church on Sunday mornings as well as on Wednesday nights with the youth. She leads out every Wednesday night with the youth, but yesterday was her first time to lead out on a Sunday morning in big church. So proud of that girl! It was amazing. She sang "Good, Good Father."

Eating plan is getting a little easier. Cravings have eased up since I cut out sugar. The desserts are not as much of a temptation. I found substitutes that work well for me so that I don't feel deprived. I just have to plan ahead. I knew we were having lasagna at my mom's for lunch yesterday, so I drank a protein drink on the way over there and just ate the salad. I also knew that she always fixes some kind of dessert, so I brought my own Atkins dessert bar. Was able to stick with my plan, even with all of the temptations around. I just had to plan ahead.

Itty Bitty found my old Kettlebell DVDs and wanted to see if we could start working out together. She was too little when my son and I were training together several years ago, but she would grab a water bottle or can of something and follow along with us as we worked out. Now she is 15 and wanting to work out with me! How special is that? DS helped me get in shape the first time, and now Itty Bitty is going to help me again. I am one blessed mama! I am going to have to stop by after work and buy a 5 pound kettlebell, because the 10 pound one I used to use is just to heavy. Itty Bitty can use that one. I know I won't be able to do much on the workout yet because I lost so much strength while I was sick, but I will just do what I can do and build from there. She also wants to train for a 5k with me like DS and I did, but I told her I will have to build up to that one. She is beginning to get me excited about working out again. She has seen her mama so sick for so long, that I know she is anxious to see me strong and healthy again. How's that for motivation!

Hope you have a great day, Friends! Let's keep working toward those goals!

DS2 wants to be a physical therapist and is constantly working on me-the one person in his life that he thinks he can fix. He is making us work out too and it's wonderful. Can't wait to hear about you and DD getting those kettlebell work outs done and feeling so wonderful because of it.

Sugar is such a hard one and so bad for us, you go girl, get past that stuff.

I love Good Good Father, it's on my gym playlist. My gym playlist is not your average playlist. I want to get Just Breathe added, it's one of my favs!

Glad to hear you are working hard on those sugar temptations. I need to take a page from your book. I seem to give in constantly anymore despite knowing its the worst thing I could for my body. Sigh...

Woo Hoo to working out with your DD. At one time DD & I were starting to walk together and excited about walking 5Ks and then she injured her leg last year and now she can't walk far without pain. I'm working at getting my own walking started back up though.

Hope your week is off to a great start!
