Formerly Kalorie-Killah, and My First SP Weigh-In

My username was Kalorie-Killah from the beginning, but I decided after more than a decade of SP to make a change - now I am "TheNextJess". Minor, seemingly purpose-less change, but I want this to be more of me *now* than me *then*.

So, I had my first weigh-in yesterday (Sunday)! I am doing my weigh-ins like I did back at the dawn of my time on SP - one official weigh-in a week, on Sunday mornings. If I want to torture myself, I'll weigh myself mid-week but I will not record it, I swear!

So, my first weigh-in was a 3.2lb "loss", but as many of us know, this is likely just some water-weight-loss since it is the first prolonged time of watching my food and upping my activity level. I want to be excited, but I also want to be realistic.

I was challenged over the weekend, though. On Saturday afternoon I stayed home with the baby while my husband took our preschooler out to McDonald's for lunch. He asked if I wanted anything, and I declined (yay!). But... he came home with one of my weaknesses: a Shamrock Shake! Eep. I did drink it (all of it) but I counted that as my lunch and went easy during dinner. I also didn't have a post-dinner snack. Overall, I stayed in my range and was really proud of myself!

It's good to be back and it's especially a good feeling to be in control again!

    Those husband treats are so hard to resist!

    DH does the same thing. I finally sat him down for a serious talk and made him promise to only bring me a treat if I okayed it beforehand. And told him I knew it was his way of showing love, but if I was going to be serious about losing weight, I needed him to show his love in other ways. Sigh.

    I think that’s a great idea, reflecting your current-you rather than decade-older-you. We change a lot in a decade—great idea to refocus!
