A Sweet Story

Has my esophagram this morning. Yuck! emoticon The barium was bad enough, but they also put me on an incline with my head hanging down and had me eat and drink. I felt like a bat hanging upside down. Now I just have to wait for the results. One of the things I had to eat was a marshmallow. It was disgustingly sweet after going this long without treats. Dirty cardboard would have tasted better than the bite of bagel I had to endure. They said everyone has complained about how bad that one tasted.

Hubby is getting a little unexpected excitement in his life. He was selected for jury duty for a murder trial. It started yesterday. I have to say I'm envious. I've always wanted to serve on a jury. It was so interesting listening to him describe the process, and how it differs from everything we've seen on tv and in movies. He isn't divulging info, or discussing the case, just the process. I can't wait to hear more about it tonight.

I have jury duty in two weeks. Years ago I was picked for a trial. I agree it is interesting to serve on a jury. Here in NJ we have a week or one trail of jury duty and can be called every two years. Hope your test results are good. SOunds like a nasty test to endure.. emoticon

That "sweet treat" is rather old... A few years ago I came across a copy of it from 60+ years ago... That copy didn't have the colors... just black and white.

And yes jury duty can be very interesting. been there and done that...
Grand Jury duty is interesting also.. but tends to be a wee bit boring.

Pray this latest procedure leads to a good resolution for you.

that sure was a sweet story. loved it.

hopefully you will get good results. the test didn't sound fun. that awful drink is nasty and then afterwards you need to drink plenty of water so the barium flows from your body and not become cement like. i had to drink the barium and i have a low tolerance to stuff like that and when i had to drink the barium i didn't keep it down to well. bet your glad that is over with.

take care...have a good day Thursday.

I had to have a barium swallow a couple of weeks ago. That semi-liquid barium gook was nasty. I had to be upright to flat - I would have puked if my head was down, so they didn’t do that. Then I went to the lab to get my fasting labs. By the time I got something to eat or drink, I was fasting 14 hours. Oy! No fun.
Loved the candy bar saga emoticon

I’ve served on an assault case (hung jury, 11:1 - no, I wasn’t the idiot); several times I had to call in to see if they needed me that day - I was working 12 hour night shifts then. Mostly got “thank you very much for coming. If we didn’t call your name, you are released.” I kinda wanted to be on a Grand Jury. One of our secretaries was called for that. She had some good stories after the 3 months she served! (She didn’t share before that)

I have been on jury duty but nothing like a murder case. I think I would have enjoyed it more now, as an older adult. The "young me" felt it was more of an inconvenience. Good luck to hubby. I hope that you get good results from your tests.

Well, you've got the unpleasant test behind you. Let's hope for good results.

I wouldn't mind sitting on a murder trial (unless it went on and on). You get to live vicariously through your husband...lucky you!

Wow! That sounds like your test was daunting, to say the least!

    Wishing your DH good luck . . . I can't say I envy him.

what a mix of emotions you've had today! That test sounds the pits, but I hope it gives your medics the info needed to get you well again.

A murder trial eh? I guess TV does exaggerate the progress in court. Will hubby be the foreman of the jury?
Will he have to wrestle with conflicting evidence and have sleepless nights coming to a decision?
Not sure I'd want the responsibility of putting a guy away for murder or clearing him on some legal loophole.
