I rediscovered oatmeal... the old fashion kind. Thick hearty flakes drenched in milk and spoonful of sugar. Mary Poppins had that right. Everything is better with sugar - the real thing. Do you remember sugar? lol I grew up on oatmeal, we ate it cold and I still love it best that way. BIg thick flakes, none of that overprocessed package stuff. It is good in a pinch, I give you that, but real oatmeal is better. Goodbye Cholesterol and hello Fiber. I don't have an issue with either of those, I just love plain old cold oatmeal.

I managed almost 8000 steps yesterday and been super lazy otherwise. I have a friend coming over for coffee in an hour, so I can wait to go on a walk until the temps come up a bit. It dropped into freezing last night again, will also today but by Sunday they forecast 80 during the day and mid 50 at night. That's Winter in Texas.

    I love the old-fashioned Quaker oatmeal, although I do add a couple tablespoons of PB2 (dehydrated peanut butter) to it to add protein and that sweet touch!
