We have our own little "Elvis" in our family, Hazel!
She was fascinated by her mirror double when looking in a store window, lol.
Her baby sister is due to arrive at any time now, suppose to be the beginning of March but we think she'll be here before then. Her name will be Violet and I'm getting used to that - funny but I had a cousin Hazel and also an Aunt Violet, so these two names are really familiar to me. Hazel and Violet ... sounds nice. I have a beautiful crochet blanket that has some violet colour in it, for Violet when she arrives. (a friend made it, she also crochet a lap blanket for me to put on my legs when I stretch out in my recliner at night)
It is Family Day here in Canada, tomorrow. Having this day gives working parents a long weekend holiday during the cold weather and we have so many nice activities lined up all this weekend for families to take part in.
As a lot of you would already know, 2BDYNAMIC (Jan), has written a book and it has been published . My daughter ordered it for me from Amazon and has it now. She will be bringing it over tomorrow and I'm anxious to read it. Jan gave us a small section of it to read in one of her blogs and it really intrigued me, I just had to read it all!
Sue will also be bringing me, along with the book, a meal for tomorrow night. She fixed me a plate with a nice tender pork chop, mashed potatoes, gravy, etc., and I had to tell her I'd just eat the pork chop! I don't eat gravy and don't want mashed potatoes. She didn't mind and now I have tomorrow's meals planned.
Not much to blog about, most of my days seem to be a repeat of the one before! Oh, I'll be having the lady who did my nails last month, come to give me a manicure again on Tuesday - I had forgotten about that. I'm thinking of having her come on a regular basis, just in the 'thinking stage' right now. But I sure love her doing them!
My sister has kind of crashed since her 90th birthday party last month. She was so excited and happy over that but I think February can get the best of us feeling down. It's in-between-weather, dull skies, up and down temperatures. We don't know from one day to the next what our weather will be really like - very warm one day, freezing the next. I phone her most days and can always tell when she is feeling down, that part is easy, but trying to make her laugh and pull her up out of it can be difficult some days. I love her so much and we're the last of a big family. We love and need each other.
I may be going to bed fairly soon, have had a nasty headache all night. A good sleep will fix that. So until tomorrow ... sleep well.
