Wonderful news! No more beta blockers for me. I tried them for a month, and yuck. Fatigue, dizziness, breathlessness, a ridiculously low heart rate. So, she switched me to a different med for my anxiety that won't affect my blood pressure or heart rate. We'll see if it works. If not, there are no drug options left really for managing it. Well, there are SSRI medications, but I can't take those because I have a family history of bipolar disorder (both siblings and uncles with the disorder) and these meds can't be used by anyone with the risk of bipolar.
I also got treatment orders from my therapist -- more time outside. From my anxiety journal she deduced that I don't tend to have anxiety attacks on those days that I spend in the woods. So I was prescribed 30 minutes daily of "forest bathing," and walking to class doesn't count. With my schedule, that may be hard to do but I will do my best. Doctor's orders, after all!
I'm also going to be changing stuff up on my spark blog so that it remains a tool to help me. A loose posting schedule will suffice:
Saturday: Menu Plan!
Sunday: Weekly weigh-in and measurements
Monday: Weekly goals
Tuesday: Recipe of the week :)
Wednesday: Mental health hump day check
Thursday: Life goal discussions
Friday: Biggest challenge from the week
Since it is Friday, lets look at the biggest challenge this week -- food! My appetite is slowly coming back and night time eating is becoming a challenge again. I in part think this was due to my fatigue from those betablockers -- I was so tired all day, I started eating as soon as I got home to try and keep my peepers open so I could finish necessary tasks. This next week my focus is going to be on cutting off the mindless snacking habit!
What challenges did you face this week?
