Change Your Mindset

Say “I don’t eat that” in your mind or out loud when tempted with a tantalizing treat instead of “I can’t have that.” Studied have shown that 80% of women will stick to their healthy meal planning when using that technique verses 10% who say “I can’t.” “I don’t” is empowering and owning the situation at hand.
Give it a try and see what happens! I’ve been using this technique for years and yes, it does fail once in awhile, but not often at all.
Another technique I use to change my mindset is using mantras. I create sayings to remind myself of what is important to me. That way I can call these things up when I need them. Examples:
•Lose, maintain, just don’t gain. That reminds me that maintaining is ok.
•DAS. Dress the part. Act the part. Suck it up. Reminds me to wear fitting clothes for the situation, act accordingly and keep a positive focus.
•What I cannot do now is not my defeat, it is my aspiration. Reminds me to keep going!
•One always has less calories than two.
•Water pills you lose weight? You can’t pee out a pizza.
•If you can say “I may as well” you can say “I may as well NOT.”
•Eat right, not light.
