Rest and recuperation today.
We got a lovely snow overnight, so it's beautiful outside.
Just on foliage, roads are clear, so no free snow day for me. I hate using my sick days. The selfish part of me wants them stockpiled for my final year so that I can have 4 day weeks for the entire year.
I also want some saved up so I can take off for any important events in my son's life. I mean, who wants to waste a sick day being sick when you can use them having fun and enjoying life? I know, I'm a ditz.
I"m not doing too bad today.
I'm not pushing my limits either. Pain is tolerable. I was afraid my reaction time would still be effected by the meds, so I didn't want to drive the 30 minutes through hilly winding roads where I encounter deer and cows in the road on a daily basis.
I have every intention of going back tomorrow. I'm sure I can handle it. I was able to be up for a couple of hours before taking anything for the pain, so tomorrow I just won't take it until I get to school.
My students are super sweet, and I never have to bend over to pick anything up cause they are always diving for it and anxious to help out anyway they can.
They are very tender and extra eager to help on days a teacher doesn't feel well. This week and next week are short weeks, so I can ease back in, 3 days, then 4 days, then 5 days. My principal can be very compassionate, when he chooses,
and will cover for me if I need to come home early.
Drinking lots today. It serves several purposes. Keeps me from munching.
It makes me get up more often for refills and for bathroom breaks.
So, I'm moving around without overdoing it. I've been fixing a different type of drink every time so I don't get bored with it. I'm not not a huge tea fan, but green tea was recommended for healing. So, I brewed some green tea,
then added a sugar free lemonade flavor packet intended for water, and finished filling the glass with cool water. Actually yummy. I'm almost finished with it, so I'm going to brew another cup and try a different flavor.
Trying to decide between grape and strawberry.
I recently started adding those flavor packets to a glass of sprite zero, as well as any of those clear sodas.
It works great, just have to leave a little room at the top of the glass for foaming when I first put it in. Diet orange soda is easy to find, but not the other flavors. And I usually only want one glass, not a six pack or huge bottle. I love that it gives me more variety. I've even added it to caffeine free diet coke and dr. pepper. I prefer caffeine free drinks because I do love a good sleep
and the older I get the more caffeine interfere with that.
