Nothing like it!

That smile on your face, feeling like the singing a song, the sun is shining (even if it isn't), pat yourself on the back sort of a feeling.... accomplishment!

I went on a 4.5 day trip, 20 hours in the car, sitting in workshops, eating out sort of thing. This would normally knock me off my path. I would pack candy and chips and other high carb, sugary snacks. This time I packed healthy snacks, nuts, cheese, lunch meat, fruit and water. I was prepared. I even packed enough snacks to last the full trip.

Eating out was a challenge and I did pretty good most days, however, I did fall for the breakfast of sausage, pancakes and eggs. That was probably the worst choice I made on the whole trip - so I am ok with that! Sometimes it is ok to veer off the path if we get right back on it and I did.

Exercise was another story. Unfortunately two of the days it was pouring rain or sleeting outdoors. The hotel workout room was always packed during breaks. I did walk around the hotel and conference center, but it was more movement and hardly a workout.

When I got up Monday to weigh in, I was apprehensive. Pancakes and no exercise. How much did that take me off course? I was please to see a 4.2 pound weight loss! Thank you scale gods!

Which brings me to this - it pays to be prepared and to maintain focus on your goals! Hope everyone has a great week!
