Been Falling Behind

I have good intentions everyday on things that I want to tackle and finish. And everyday someone or something comes along and throws a monkey wrench in my plans. For example, I will go to start the housework, and soon as I get started here comes a neighbor wanting me to go out to eat with them. One of the problems with this is because of my chronic health problems, that might be the only day I feel up to completing it. You never know what tomorrow might be like. Those of us who live with chronic illness knows all to well how the day after you can be in bed aching from pain or running a fever.



How about all of you? What are some areas where you seem to get distracted a lot and how do you handle it when it happens?


On another note, and I cannot remember if I told all of you, but I have got into Bullet Journaling. I found a YouTube video and fell in love with it, so I ordered a few supplies and have started on my 2020 journal. Is there anyone else out there who bullet journals?

    bullet journaling sounds interesting.

    Sounds like you need to practice saying no - I need to do the same. I'm sure neighbors will understand if you explain your health to them.

    i tell all my family and friends not to contact me unless an emergency of course between these times, They are my time for exercise and important house work, etc then i design my life around those times, i dont answer the phone either . Maybe tell your friends to only call you the day before and then you can plan your day better, Hugs

    I tend to thrive on routine, which helps a lot. I do get distracted with phone calls, etc., the minutia of life. But with my to do lists, I usually am pretty good about prioritizing and getting done what needs to be done.

    As for chronic illness -- yes, I have that to contend w/too, but fortunately not lots of pain. It is a challenge.

    I too am a list maker and also my own worst enemy dstracting me from things I should be doing-like exercise. My SP blog is basically my journal. Living on the edge of nowhere (nearest neighbor is 1 mile, nearest friend is 4 miles), only Fedex and UPS distract me. Don't even allow Schwans here anymore, I pick my order up in town.

    WIll look up Bullet journaling. WHen things distract me, I just go with and look at it as a blessing.

    It doesn't take much to draw my attention away from what needs
    to be done so I make a list and have fun crossing things off as I go.
    Then I feel productive LOL!. Of course, it will be different when I
    am no longer working outside of the home.

    I am blessed to mostly be well and fairly pain free. I had started having knee pain but water exercise has helped that. The Bullet Journaling sounds interesting.

    Oh Ya. I am a procrastinator and I easily lose focus on my plans....daily. I have plans to go through papers and pick up something and boom I forget all about the paper work until in the evening. Same thing with nutrition goals have meal plans planned and before you know it I am snacking. My best plan of action is not. Putting them on the computer. On the table, on the dash on my car. Wherever I will see it. You can do this. You are not alone.

    I found that to get things done I have to write out a list of priorities and make sure I identify the ones that I can NOT live without. I say NO to everything that comes along to stop me from doing those things until I have completed them. Saying NO has been tough but I had to choose if I wanted distractions or results.

    Yes, I have chronic back issues & never know how I will feel. Also a procrastinator so when I get ambitious, better to finish what I start. Interruptions do happen, some more welcome than others. Maybe a rain check?
