Every day is a new beginning

Around the first of the year I heard a podcast by Katrina Sequenzia that really resonated with me. Here are some notes I took:
We do not rise to the level of our goals, we fall to the level of our habits.
Instead of trying to jump the gap of where we are to where we want to be, BUILD A BRIDGE step by step instead of “jumping” and failing. The jumping is from all the diets and sure fire plans that we think will help us get there.
I want to build a bridge.
All big things come from small beginnings. Increasing just 1% a day will get you there. You have to hang on to see the breakthrough.
The seed of every habit is a tiny decision. Habits will sprout when you consistently keep stepping and refuse to get discouraged when it doesn’t seem to happen fast enough. Keep stepping. Grow habits.
Our identity can sabbotage our new plans for change. If we identify as a “fat, unhealthy person” we will remain that way. We have to identify as a healthy person. Commit this identity issue to prayer.
I am a healthy temple of the most high God.
The goal is not to “get healthy”, the goal is to BE HEALTHY.
We must be it until we see it. Every healthful action (drinking water, taking extra steps, reaching for good food) is a vote for who you wish to become.
Success is not a goal to reach. Success is a system to improve. NEVER stop making improvements.
