Back on the 28th December when I first saw that photo of my arms that prompted me to take action (again) and do something about my weight and overall health, I struggled to move enough to hit 3000 steps on any day.
A week or so later when work started again we had an emergency evacuation of the building. I work on the 8th floor. Struggling down those flights of stairs - I was not only hampering myself I was also potentially hindering others. It was a long slow process and I was exhausted waiting in the assembly area to return when it was deemed safe to do so.
Last night late I called into my work location after-hours to complete a work task and submit it prior to an internal recruitment interview this morning.
As I was working away the fire alarm sounded. I quickly grabbed by bag and headed for the fire escape.
I was half way down the flights of stairs (around the fourth floor) when i realised I was moving much more freely.
I was puffed and nervous when I was safely outside waiting for the fire fighters - but I was also pleased with my progress (physical ability-wise) in less than a month.
The small steps that I notice along the way make me smile.
When i weighed in on Saturday morning - I was 6.7 kilograms less than I was on the 29 December last year.
