Let's Get This Party Started!

Hello.

I have been here before, had pretty good results, and made friends. I am currently following a different plan (ask me) and I realize that the piece I am missing is being able to blog and to interact with other people working to improve their lives.

I have been working on eating clean, no pasta, and no(!) sugar. Not doing as well with the sugar as I would like, but WAY better than I have before. It is a process. I've lost 10lbs since the first of the year and I really don't want to stop at the end of January as I have the past umpteen years. My family is patient and tolerant with my "improved lifestyle" until February and then they are ready for it to be O V E R. Not me. Not this year. I will need the support of fellow Sparkers just to keep going.

I have been married 32 years to the same man, have 2 sons aged 24 and 15. The 15 yr old recently complemented me two ways and he doesn't even realize it. Just a day or two ago he said "This fridge looks like the Jolly Green Giant threw up! All we have are Vegetables!" But my favorite one happened about a week ago. I was journalling and somehow "lost" the entry (not on this site) so I titled it the "mystery of the disappearing journal entry." He said I should title it "THE MYSTERY OF THE DISAPPEARING DIABETIC!!" Oh my! THAT is what I want, my friends. I want to be healthy and free from diabetes.

Will you help me "disappear?"

    Welcome back to SparkPeople. We are all here for the same reason, no matter what our personal story is. We are here to help each other to get to that healthy point we want to be in our lives. It is not going to be easy, but it is attainable. Make small goals and they will lead to big successes. You have to make you #1 and tell yourself that you are worth it. If you don't take care of yourself you can't take care of anyone else. You can do it! We are here to help! Welcome back and get active on this site. emoticon

    It all begins someplace and you just started there. Sp is the way to do it.

    We want to remember it took us a few years to put our weight on and it comes off a little at a time, just like it went on. People get frustrated with it not coming off faster than we put it on. But with consistent focus on doing what we are told on SP we will hit our objective. Like many things it just wont get there overnight.

    Make sure you make one of your most focused goals you water intake. Myself, when I hit plateaus its because I am not doing the water correct. I found using a reminder on my phone to be very helpful in making sure I keep on track with the water
