January 23, 2020 WHAT OTHERS MAY SAY

Sometimes goals do not get accomplished due to our own thoughts. Our thoughts about what we believe others may say or think. It’s time to turn the tables. We need to stop thinking about what others think and start thinking about what God wants. We need to stay on track with our goals remembering who God created us to be. As we go for our goals – no matter what anyone says or thinks – we are to treat them with respect, show kindness and forgiveness. Then we simply move on doing the will of God knowing He is who we answer to and who we live to please.

Galatians 1:10 “Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.” (NLT)

1. Write what you are doing for God.
2. List what others have said about your goals.
3. Know you only work for God and will only answer to Him.
4. Remember to be kind to others as you continue to do God’s will.

Dear Lord, we know we sometimes allow what others think or say to keep us from doing Your will. Help us remember to show them kindness but not allow them to stop us from doing what You call us to do. We want to stay focused on You but also forgive them for their harsh actions and words against us as we do Your will. Help us, we pray. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Despite what others think or say about what we are doing for God, we are to treat them kindly.

1 Peter 2:17 “Respect everyone, and love the family of believers. Fear God, and respect the king.” (NLT)

We are called to be kind to all people and forgive them just as God has forgiven us.

Ephesians 4:32 “Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.” (NLT)

Know God will give us all we need to accomplish our goals. We shouldn’t allow others to stop us from doing God’s will.

Philippians 2:13 “For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.” (NLT)
