January 21, 2020 ARE YOU PLANTING?
Many of us wonder why we can’t get ahead. We set goals and work toward them but it seems accomplishing our goals moves further and further away. We get down about how we aren’t getting to where we believe we need to be in life. We keep looking at the end goal wondering when we will arrive. There is something we may be missing. We have the planning done but what about the planting? If we want to reap good things in life, we have to be sure we are sowing the right seeds.
If we want to accomplish any goal, we need to plant seeds of God’s word into our lives and into the lives of others. No matter our goal, God’s word should be first and foremost in our lives. Daily and deliberate planting according to God’s plan will get us to where we need to go. Oh, and along the way let’s enjoy the process as we see daily accomplishments knowing, in the end, we will reach the destination God has planned for us.
Hosea 10:12 “Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the Lord, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.” (KJV)
1. Write what you do to plant seeds of God’s word in your life.
2. List how you plant seeds of God’s word in others.
3. Know all your goals should involve God.
4. Stay focused on Him and His word so you always end up accomplishing His goals.
Dear Lord, we know we sometimes get frustrated because plans don’t go our way. However, we know if we stay in Your word and plant Your seeds of righteousness in our lives, all will be well. We know Your word can help us reach Your goals for our lives. We know You tell us when we plant Your word in our hearts and into the hearts of others, we are accomplishing Your will for our lives. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
God’s word is the seed that needs to be planted in order to reach our goals.
Mark 4:20 “And the seed that fell on good soil represents those who hear and accept God’s word and produce a harvest of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as had been planted!” (NLT)
2 Corinthians 9:10 “For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.” (NLT)
Ecclesiastes 11:6 “Plant your seed in the morning and keep busy all afternoon, for you don’t know if profit will come from one activity or another—or maybe both.” (NLT)
Planting seeds of God’s word in the minds and hearts of others will reap great rewards.
Mark 4:14 “The farmer plants seed by taking God’s word to others.” (NLT)
