The Jungle Story Quilt

A quilt is my multi-month labor of love. I’m always concerned that I won’t get it done, and the project will sit in a box somewhere as the baby is born, and the little child grows. That is why I chose a simple pattern with a panel in the center.
I added a brown border around the panel and will add the same brown cotton fabric as edging. I really love the great variety of fabrics offered at https://www.fabric.com/
Also, they have a space called The Design Wall where I can put fabric that I like and organize my next project. This is what I used to create the Jungle Story Quilt. The fabric was designed by Eric Sturtevant for Studio E. The website has a quilt pattern offered, and I simplified that pattern to serve my purpose.
I bought a cotton batting as filler, and know that this quilt will be loved! I hope to have it finished by April, but no promises. I am also including the book The Great Kapok Tree by Lynne Cherry, and some Rain Forest coloring pages for Lina and Ella, the new boy’s older sisters. I’ll laminate and frame the artwork to make it a true family affair.

I'm looking forward to celebrating a new grandson. I think that the quilt will be something that the whole family will enjoy because my family is like a quilt! Each piece is beautiful and unique. We are stitched together by life's experiences.
When the quilt is done, I'll post again with the finished quilt.
