January 1. Again.

11 years here and what I have to show for it is a bit of loss and a whole lot of struggling maintenance. I'll take it!

Last night I wore my black corduroy pants, at least 10 years old, and they still fit. This picture is in no way a flattering angle for me but I like it because we were all there to celebrate!

We've each managed to go through some serious health struggles the past 5 years and survived to not only tell the tale but live it (party) like it's 1999!

We also all stayed awake to ring in the new decade!

Happy New Year! We celebrated early, like at 10:30, because we were so excited to ring in the new year. Hahaha, it’s more like I woke up the hubs and we went to bed then. Much to celebrate, doing so with special people makes it even better.

Recent numbers at my annual physical have me recommitted to doing what I know needs to be done. Three months to lower total cholesterol and my LDL. I’ve done it in the past, just cannot do the kinda/sorta deal. Popping a pill is a last resort for me. Since my 60th hoopla I’ve been doing just enough. That girl isn’t me, I’m an all in jump right in girl. Beat you can tell. Ten years ago I was a different person, no desire to go back.

Low resting heart rate, triglycerides, blood pressure for the win. High HDL thanks to that strength and cardio. My Physician’s Assistant said she couldn’t believe the change in my physical appearance...strength work for the win. Time to flex our strong, send Miss Behaving packing. Cleaning up and clearing out in this new decade.

I’m glad I’ve gained You, your friendship...priceless chica. Onward like ya mean it, link your arm through mine!

You're a braver woman than I am, Janet! I had to wish my Eastern Time zone niece Happy New Year after *waking up* at 11:26 p.m. my time. Nobody to ring it in with... son had a bout of post-Christmas food poisoning so we stayed in our respective caves.

I, too, have been here 11 years. I have to say I've done better *with* Spark than without it, and going forward the focus is on health, not weight, although 2019 was yet another "gaining weight" year. I'm still better off being here than no!

May your 2020 be blessed with health and happiness. emoticon

I made it past 10 pm. emoticon emoticon After I left Sparkpeople once and regained all my weight and then some I said I will stick with it even if it just keeps me from gaining more weight. It's a daily struggle but so worth it.

    You look great!

Looks like good times to me!
Coming up on my 11th and when I feel discouraged about never reaching goal I think of how ~ahem~ unhealthy I would be if I had not joined SP and learned so much about healthy living and, just as importantly, made so many wonderful Sparkfriends...like you!
May 2020 be a peaceful healthy year for you and yours.
