2020 5% Winter Challenge

2019 was a rough year! Divorced and trying to find myself again. I started hiking - mostly solo. I enjoyed it immensely! Some health issues cut my goal short but I've been working on them and I am ready to start again!

I joined the 5% Winter Challenge to hold me accountable to exercise and diet - both are important if I want to get healthier and fit.

My Exercise goals for this challenge are: 30 minutes of exercise / day - at least 3 days of cardio along with strength training and stretching / balance exercises.

The first couple month of the year may be rough to get out hiking, but I can do indoor walking with Leslie Sansone. I can also mix in some Biggest Loser videos and others that I have.

I also have a 5% Diet Commitment for this challenge: Prepare a weekly menu and stick to it!

I have never been one to plan ahead on meals. I buy whatever and then find a recipe that I want to cook that night. This not only leads to much food waste (buy things that I won't be using) - it also leads to unbalanced meals. Making an eating plan will help me only buy what I plan on using and let me plan a balanced meal to get the nutrients I need!

God willing my leg will stay calm and allow me to continue hiking / walking - if not I will find other exercises that I can do until it heals fully!

    You will find the best e exercise that works for you. Keep experimenting. And plan those meals, it’s so important!
