My Recovery from Schizophrenia

Thursday, December 26, 2019

I am determined to write a book on this topic because I think my story will give many others encouragement or greater understanding whichever is needed. I am often amused by some such as Sam and those who have reacted with deep criticism, simply because a slightly off colored joke had been shared in an email by him. I responded to an email by him apologizing for his "error":

"Sam, everyone makes a few mistakes and I know you are no pervert in the true sense of the word. Not only that I had a very bad influence from growing up and did a perverted act. Many years ago I confided to a therapist my shame and the therapist told me to never tell my previous wife, but I did. My marriage never was the same after that and I started having difficulty with dreams. Because my wife didn't understand me the marriage ended in divorce, but my schizophrenia was not diagnosed until after my divorce. With God's help and medicine which I still take today, I overcame my schizophrenia and recovered. As you know, I now have a perfect wife, who loves me in spite of my past which I also had shared with her. Some people are just too prone to be a critic and often through a lack of understanding, miss enjoying the humor of life."

My current wife and I have been together since 1989 and look forward to many more years of a perfect marriage. Bob
