An interesting morning,

Friday, December 20, 2019

Can't help it, just got to share so more Chicken philosophy. I so love chickens. They are such interesting creatures.

I have to admit that this morning I about tore the house apart looking for an anniversary card I could re-cycle to give to hubby tomorrow, you know they would never remember getting that card before, but nary a one could I find. Lots of cards for his birthday but no anniversary cards. So after he went to town for his male bonding at the elevator, the implement shore, and the welding shop, I sneaked into town to a local café that also sells card and lots of crafty things, and wine, and a lot of interesting things. Shows a local artists paintings also, but my mission was just an anniversary card. I really am glad that I no longer have the Nitro, cause it was a rare SUV, not many around and everyone knew it, and now Mr. Ed is a popular SUV and no one takes a second glance at it. So in and out & back home before Merlin even noticed I wasn't in the house. Yep, he was still in the same position that I left him in. So that mission is fulfilled, and in the morning I will bake him his Custard Pie, same thing I give him every year. Just saw the mailman go by, so about am breathless as I ran down to get mail, as his Christmas present is suppose to be here today, and it was no a disappointment. So got that card last time in the grocery store, and now the gift so I have that day all taken care of. PHEW. I sort of feel like 007 today. Then this morning also Larry said something about me not putting up the tree this year, so I also took care of that, went up and grabbed our little 3 foot full decorated tree and stuck it on a small table in the dining room where it always sets. And while I was looking for that allusive Anniversary card I found a whole pack of miniature decorations that I brought down and will see if I can come up with something to use them. And I got the one and only other gift I bought wrapped, it is a hostess gift for SIL for having to their place on, oops, I don't remember what day, so will have to ask hubby. So now I have to get our main bathroom cleaned. It won't take long, as we never spent much time in there to mess it up. Just a swipe here and a brush there, and another wipe over there and it will be done, after sweeping and mopping floor. Should have that little job over with in about 15 minutes, so why do I procrastinate?

Better let you all go for now, so take care and have a GET day. Linda

    Happy anniversary and Happy Christmas!

I have a pre-lit 6' tree, but I'm thinking of getting a smaller one. Some years I've done a tiny (2-3') real one from the grocery store. That's about perfect. This year we just threw up the artificial one and of course the cats think it's their gift and have been messing with it ever since. All the ornaments are in the top 3rd of the tree. Maybe I should get one of those upside down trees that I can hang from the ceiling (shoot, I wanted to put a picture here but I can't put a picture in a blog comment).

I put in an online order a few days ago, and went out of town yesterday for some shopping. I have 2 more small gifts to buy, some gift wrapping, and I'm done. Not too bad.

I love surprising my hubby, which is a rarity for me. This year for Christmas he will be so super surprised, as I got him Alaskan Wild Blueberry jelly. Now to fill you in, he just love blueberry jelly, and we took a cruise to Alaska back when I was still working so it's got to be about 6 or 7 years ago. He thought it was the best blueberry jelly he's ever had. He finished what we bought then, we were going to reorder it but the shipping from Alaska is like $25. No kidding. There is no way I'm paying almost $40 for a jar of blueberry jelly. He was so disappointed when he saw the shipping price. The jelly is $10 a jar. So my girlfriend and her hubby went to Alaska on a cruise this year, and she picked me up a couple of jars. Hubby knows nothing of this, and he will surely be surprised. I can't wait to see his face.
