Diagnosis Not Defining Me Update
Thursday, December 19, 2019
After first writing about my diagnosis in August, I was told that I needed to have a biopsy done on my thyroid as they felt a nodule. In September, I was diagnosed with having Papillary Thyroid Cancer and had to schedule surgery. I was in shock and disbelief. The scripture that came to mind was "In ALL things give thanks, for this is the will of God concerning you through Christ Jesus." I said out loud thank you God that I met my deductible and out of pocket max. See all though I was scared, I had to have faith in God and hope that this will turn out all right.
I continued to eat good and exercise. On December 3rd, I had my surgery and I am happy to announce that I am cancer free. The cancer was only confined to my thyroid and not my lymph nodes. I am also happy to announce that my AC is back to 5.5 and no longer 10.5. My legs are working better than ever. My blood pressure is coming down and I am working on getting my cholesterol under control. I have lost a total of 48 lbs and counting.
I am grateful to God for seeing me through this and all of the prayers that was for and over me. I cannot wait to see what is in store going forward. My diagnosis has not defined me and I will keep moving forward.
