Monday, Monday

Monday, Monday what will you be,
Here, fog and very white and dreary.
Or world is covered with frost and beautiful
But if the sun was out it would be wonderful.

Yes very dull, and I could take some beautiful picture of the frost covered trees, but it is foggy and not very bright so the picture would be pretty blah. The first thing I saw when I walked into the bathroom upon arising was the Hardy Bamboo stalks totally engulf in that beautiful Frost. They have very lacy flower heads and I never cut them down until spring cause they are interest plants in the winter with their brownish red six to seven foot long stalks and those wonderful flower heads, and now totally white. Just beautiful, maybe will try later, if it brightens up to take their picture. Also all the Evergreen trees, 98 of them, are all white, and a very Winter Wonderland right now outside.

The livestock is all accounted for, Merlin and Finn both sleeping and Shorty and Kinney are watching the birds fly around outside. Have lots of sparrows, doves, and of course there is always a barn cat or two outside on the patio, so there is always something moving around to amuse them. I am not so sure that they aren't enjoying the beauty out there. I love the way Shorty always sits on the pillow in the corner of the sofa, but I suppose with his hind legs the way they are sitting on the back of the sofa is out, so to see out the pillow does the trick.

I just can't seem to get motivated here lately, well really for sometime actually, but I really need to kick myself out of Neutral and at least put the old transmission is first gear. All I do is fill this tank and get no where. Sure I get all the necessities done, and keep the house tidy, the clothes washed, both of us fed, but as far as really moving I haven't really concentrated on much more for months, if not a year or two, and I really need to. I think a lot of that started almost 3 years ago when all my thoughts were on Larry's, survival, his recovery, and taking care of him, that I totally forgot about me, and the way I am now is not how I wanted my or our retirement to be. We could be and should be doing so much more, but where do I start?

Well, that is enough on that subject so I am going to move on, so take care and have a GET Monday. Linda

Love the frozen fog on trees but not on the roads. Now that Larry is doing well, when the weather agrees, short trips are fun. Maybe that can get out off neutral; seeing/doing something a little off kilter and new to you.

That sounds beautiful. I love when the trees frost over like that. I could look at them for hours - maybe because it happens so rarely where I live.

We had a few inches of snow yesterday. I could see that we had a dog visitor last night to see Pearl. It was a black lab and one of the neighbors caught it. We are looking for the owner. Poor dog. So our two kitties probably had a good show last night watching the dog on the front porch while we were sleeping.
I haven't done much exercise lately but I will try to do some this week. It's hard to get back in the grove.

Being tied to animals does not really allow one to be gone for any length of time..
Weather out there is no help either..

Maybe a day in Spring lake or a movie,etc.. game night?

I just read yesterday's blog. See comment. Things are slowing down for a moment cause we did some last minute things yesterday. This year I'm ahead on most stuff. Just got to wrap hubby's gifts and I should be done enough to start baking Christmas cookies. This will be the first year I am going to try and freeze them, so we'll see if that works out.

Usually i'm the type that does everything at the last minute, cause when I was working I didn't have time, after putting in 12 hrs days most the time. So I'm glad to have some "me" time. Never get tired of it..

Well take care and have a super night. Hope you get some decent sleep tonight. emoticon

Sure does sound like a winter wonderland outside your window. Winter also has a way of pushing us into hibernation and depression. Get that sunlight on again, Linda. emoticon emoticon

I love this "kick myself out of neutral" - boy, that's where I've been for the past few weeks. I think it's winter coming early this year!

to more as I can. And I'm working to get back to discipline in my thoughts and eating. I'm sad, but laugh when I can, remember where my joy comes from, and avoid negative folks. Happy Monday.

Maybe just one little thing each day to get you started. I'm struggling lately, to get back at it after my surgeries induced hiatus, and Dad's death. So...all I'm doing for sure fitness wise is ride my bike or stretch for a few minutes. I'll step up

Plan a date night with Larry and make a bucket list together. Between you, you should be able to come up with ideas. When we were young flat broke new parents, we ran across a little paperback titled How to Keep Your Family Together and Still Have Fun. It was chock full of cheap or free things to do. We made our own list, and you know, I don't think we ever did get to the bottom of our list. One suggestion was about kids and classical music so I took our girls to free concerts at churches and to the museums on their free days. One of our local TV stations put out a list of One Tank Trips, many of which we still haven't done. It's kind of fun to be a tourist in your own area. Within a short radius, we have a number of ethnic communities with interesting histories, Cuban in Tampa, Greek in Tarpon Springs, Vietnamese in St Pete, Mexican just down the road. We didn't learn anything in school about the black community, but I've learned a lot since. The little black community near where I grew up was started when the railroad and road builders needed homes. I was in 7th grade when my school was integrated for the first time, and we have some excellent black history museums and programs here. Our big trips are mostly for visiting daughters who are closer to you than they are to us. Husband's big bucket list item is the railroad trip across Canada. I hope we can do it sometime. One of our best to date was driving up the NE coast of Canada to the Bay of Fundy where they have up to 50' tides. That was an awesome trip. Otherwise, we're good at staying home, too. He likes history and do it yourself TV programs, I like to read, and we're good with that too. Didn't mean to write a book!
