OK then -- I'll be the guinea pig!! I've always wanted one of those furry cowlick-style Peruvian guinea pigs . . .
Nobody here at Spark seems familiar with the Sugru mouldable glue product and my research indicates that only black/white MIGHT be available locally . . . But I did find a "deal" on the colourful family-safe packages at Amazon (thanks MEADSBAY!!) and so I've ordered three packs for little Christmas gifts. Hope that they ARE delivered Monday/Tuesday as advertised . . . and that the recipients like 'em!!
Will report back in due course. I've got one very crafty daughter and one far northern pilot son who's often experiencing the need for little emergency repairs and one (hopelessly inept) handyman husband and I'm thinking all three might find this useful. Maybe they'll let me watch!!
I could spend hours on that Sugru website (and other YouTube sites) just thinking about all the possible applications! It just seems so fun and I'm ALWAYS breaking things and then so annoyed about having to throw them out.
And . . . I loved PHEBESS's comment yesterday too . . . linking this product to the tradition of Japanese ceramic repair when precious broken items were put back together again with gold seaming. Kintsugi.
Not just stronger in the broken places but more beautiful in the broken places. More precious.
Or alternatively, with bright mouldable glue . . . . just more fun?
Yeah. I can relate!! To either and both of those possibilities!!
