MAMADEE's Blog: SP ~ Day 4983
Focus on HAPPY!
That's what I kept trying to do today! Focus on HAPPY. Or, rather, keep the focus off all the stress & negative feelings.
Sometimes things like what happened yesterday really get me thinking a lot about how these young women (my girls) are going to survive once I'm gone. This is a common thought for all parents of special kids. We've lived in separate apartments now for about two and a half years - but not a day passes without some sort of crisis with them. Who are they going to call when I'm no longer here?
This is just one of those things that crosses my mind from time to time. Events of yesterday raised up a lot of scary concerns. I ***KNOW*** (without a doubt) that something will work out in this regard before we get to that inevitable day that I'm no longer here for them. But, as of today, I still do not KNOW what that will be - what it will look like - how effective it will be - and how my girls will live with it. It's really hard not knowing that...yet.
Just one of the many things one must do to 'get your affairs in order' before that moment comes.
I've had to work harder today than most days to think of happier things. I got reminded about this:
followed by a very colorful listing of the kinds of things happy people do every day!
I hope the pic comes thru for you!
Someday I'm either going to find a large print of this - something like 14x20 inches or maybe bigger - or I'm going to make one - and I'm going to put it in the most spectacular frame and put it on a wall in my home that every visitor will see!
I think the message in it is important for everyone!
And I love the rainbow of colors used to express all these wonderful ways to focus on happy!
So, let us all work to stay in the present, in the NOW things going on in our lives - cherish every moment as it happens!
The future is always going to be there - plan for it!
But don't waste the precious moments of today worrying over how things will be tomorrow!
It's not so easy, I know! I have much yet to plan for, prepare my special kids for; but not so much that I miss what's going on in our lives right now, here, today!
I like this quote from Helen Keller:
with what you have
while working for what you want.
Til next time,
