Goals & Gratitude 12/7/19

The Angel Tree party was today and it went really well. We had so many helpers-- lots of adults but many of the teens came too. We had 18 kids come for the party with their caregivers. I was hoping for more, but it was raining, so I think that's pretty good. We usually have about 22 or 23 at the party. I'm happy with the result. The kids made three different crafts, frosted and decorated sugar cookies, and had ice cream sundaes. We also had a ball-throwing game that someone brought that I think was the most popular thing as the kids (particularly the boys) spent two hours throwing foam balls at each other. emoticon Kids are weird!

I have pile of leftover stuff from the party to go through. I'm going to organize it and store it in a large plastic tupperware style box for next year. Right now I have everything in my office, but once I'm done with finals I'm planning on doing a big cleaning of the house, including the Angel Tree stuff.

I came home, and even though I'm exhausted, I did some homework. I finished all my Excel work for the week, and I did the last two discussion boards for Bookkeeping. Tomorrow I have to do the Ch. 11 quiz and the Ch. 12 work and quiz for Bookkeeping and I am done for the week. I'm also going to try to do one or two chapters of QuickBooks to start to get caught up. I can't believe I'm almost done for the year. It's been a crazy year!

I have a new pedometer/fitness tracker. My Fitbit wasn't working well, and I've gone through three of them in 2.5 years. (I only bought one. The other two were replacements under the warranty.) I decided to get a Galaxy Active Watch even though it doesn't work with SP. I have to manually enter my steps each day, which is fine. I am still figuring out all the features on it. It does a lot more than my old Fitbit. The one thing is that I am walking (or tracking) fewer steps each day. On a day I don't exercise, I used to get 4,000-5,000 steps on my Fitbit, but on the Galaxy watch it's 2,000-3,000 steps. I don't know which tracker is more accurate. I've tried playing around with this one, but I'm wondering if it's just more accurate of what I actually do. I know I haven't been super active the last couple of weeks, so it's hard to say.

Today I'm Grateful For...
1) A wonderful Christmas party.
2) The many, many helpers I had.
3) That people came out even with the yucky weather.
