New year is coming fast

I don't know about you all but holiday season can do some serious havoc to my waist line.
With Christmas right around the corner and New Year's not far behind, many people start making plans for their New Year's resolutions. Many of these resolutions include weight loss, getting in shape, etc. Have you ever walked into a gym the week after New Year's? Jam packed usually. Diet plans are made, weight watcher membership increases. It's great that we all make a choice to do something to better our health, but do these changes last? I know personally I go all gung ho ready to go, but then I start slipping, I get bored. My resolutions don't usually last. The game plan needs to change. Don't go on a diet, make healthier choices. Don't say you are gonna get up at 4 am everyday to run 3 miles, especially if you are not a morning person and hate to run, if you can't sustain it. Make the simple changes, take it one day at a time and don't beat yourself up.
With the new year coming, we are also starting a new round of biggest loser challenge. BLC is aimed at making lasting changes, working towards your goals, teaching new tools, giving support and accountability and making new friends who understand. We have fitness challenges (all of which can be modified), we have nutrition challenges (eat those freggies and drink more water, try a new recipe), we have challenges for your over all well being (doing something for you, resting), organization challenge (clean out a cupboard or organize an area for 15 minutes). We share our victories and our struggles, we cheer our teammates when they accomplished something they never though they could, we encourage them when they are down.
