Where to begin? How to begin? Upon reading a book called The Hallelujah Factor written by Jack R. Taylor published in 1983, the Holy Spirit laid it upon my heart to issue an invitation to others to participate in a collective shout of praise to God. I live on the west coast and the time He impressed upon me is 2 pm in the afternoon. The reason and motivation behind this come from the inspiration of Psalm 67:5-6 that Jack Taylor referenced in his book. Some of his statements of truth helped me to see a clearer vision of God’s sovereignty. “Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. THEN shall the earth yield her increase [harvest].” Taylor also writes, “Praise is his [God’s] home element. He is at home in praise and, being at home, he manifest himself best as God!”
Our example of the power of praise can be found in Joshua 6:1-15, 20. When Joshua and the people of Israel entered the promised land, they came upon the city of Jericho. This event has always impressed me. It was by obeying God’s instructions of praise that victory was achieved.
What has the Lord promised you? Jericho’s walls, the strongholds, every stronghold crumbled! What a sight that must have been! The walls of those ancient cities were so thick people erected houses upon them! Praise “flattened” those walls! Even our daily walk in this hour requires strength that only God can supply (Matthew 21:16; Psalm 8:2). We are going to shout down those walls, every stronghold, every obstacle that prevents us from receiving God’s promises in Christ.
This is a plea, as it were, a collective invitation to shout praises to our God, to dance before Him, to clap our hands, to make a joyful noise unto the LORD, our God! Praise Him for His great salvation as co-heirs with Christ!
I hope you will join me. Our God, the King of kings, is ready to move on our behalf. He understands this hour and the many challenges we face. Let’s join together and praise Him for the magnificent Person He is!
Be led of the Holy Spirit and He will direct us all in this. God’s timing is always perfect. Love and prayers to and for all.
