It wasn't the sleep that cured the blues!

I dropped off to sleep last night with the aggravations and woke up having to hurry to get the Santa suit on and off to a neighboring town to meet 30+ "early learners" and have pictures taken. As soon as I went in the children lit up but they excited me more than I excited them. Years ago my church had a day care program and I would do Santa there yearly and those kids were well behaved. But since we closed the day care at the church I have "done" Santa at other places and kids are not as thoughtful or considerate. These children were models of perfection. It was fun to talk to all of them. Later the principal called my wife and related that one child told her that Santa asked what he wanted most but he already has toys and that his mom was having a baby soon and he hoped that Santa would bring baby bottles so they wouldn't have to use the old ones in the shed. He added, Santa loves me. Monday I was Santa at the hospital tree lighting program and most of those kids wanted 6 or 7 items with phones and tablets being the top contenders.
