Wonderful Wednesday, NOT

Wednesday, December 04, 2019

Today hubby and I had to go to town and get pet food, so that meant Wally-World. E-Gads do I hate that place. I hope I got enough so that it is at least after Christmas before I have to go back. There is carts and people waiting in line clear backed up into the women's clothing, and they finally called up another checker, I glanced over and there was 2 people at the 100 self check out registers, and 1 real person checking out and 15 people waiting. What does it take to get more actual checkers over these blasted machines, and how do you check out a 50# bags of pet food on one of those machines. So while putting this all away, I came up with a great idea, I am going to call them and use the pick up, and let them carry those heavy bags and cans out to me. And I haven't even talked about trying to find someone to put them in the cart, and the rest of the experience. What a way to start a Wednesday Morning. That place just ruins my whole day, wish there was somewhere else to go, but the grocery store doesn't carry for 15 oz. cans of cat or dog food, nor do they carry the 50# bags of food either. They say it takes up to much room. And the farm store, has the bags but no cans, so I am sort of stuck going there.

So now I am in a horrible mode the rest of the day. So my Missions are just working on getting some more Christmas cards made, and just relaxing. So hoping you all are having a GET day. Linda

I refuse to ever use self-checkout. It was a corporate ploy to eliminate cashiers jobs and it worked.

Sorry! I am not a fan of Walmart, either.

I haven't tried the pick up yet, but I keep meaning to. The self-checks at my WalMart have a wand so you can scan large/heavy items without taking them out of the cart. We have the same problem here - they've replaced almost all of the lines with self-check instead of cashiers. It makes me crazy. One new thing I do like is that they've started having a roving checker. He stand near the registers, and when he sees that people are ready to check out with only a few items he scans the items and lets them get on the way. He can only accept card payments (no cash or checks) but I've started looking for him when I have to go.

Oh - one more thing. I've started using for my pet supplies. They have a huge variety of food and other supplies. I can order exactly the same thing as I was buying in a bigger bag and cheaper unit price. Free shipping on orders over $50. They deliver right to the door. It might be worth checking out.

If you have to shop there, then using the pick up service sounds like the way to go.
I recommend a nice long soak in a bubble bath for attitude adjustment.

Sorry Linda, I'm not a fan of WalMart either. I do use the self-checkout at Target quite a lot and they have a wand scanner so I can leave my heavier items in my cart and just scan them. But I like the idea of calling in your order and letting someone else get it into your car for you - sounds like a great plan!

We do the online order and pick up. It makes life so much easier and you get to avoid the crowds!

Calling or going online for a pick up order will work for you. I don’t like crowds either but other places have much higher prices. For us, off hours work well because RiteAid prices on every single item were way higher...not by pennies, but dollars
