Well, I did it, I turned 60!

Which is a blessing! Frankly, all I did to reach this "milestone" was breathe, eat, and drink, but it's okay, I'm graciously taking all the congrats that people are giving me.
This will be a big year, we'll be selling the house we raised the kids in (oh, they're still here too) and moving to SC. Sometimes I can't believe the time has gone so quickly, sometimes I know exactly where it went...to my job.
See, I was bought out in an early retirement about a year and a half ago, and that too, was a blessing. But now I've reached the age where I was going to retire from them anyway, so everything has worked out well. I got to do things here I never thought I'd do, which I wouldn't be able to do had I still been working!
So, with 60, comes change for me. And sometimes it seems too soon. I've just built a "portfolio career" here, between part-time work that I love, and volunteering at various organizations, which I also love. So, this year will be one of where I need to carry that portfolio career with me and start a new one.
Took me 58 years, and a major shakeup in my life, to realize how adaptable I am. Everything I did in my career was for the future, we could have made it in the past with a much less, but we wouldn't have been able to invest in our future. So, take the a moment and see how you're investing in yourself and your future, be it financially or physically (hopefully both). You'll reap rewards you never realized, with no regrets!
