Trying to get my new Kitchen Aid stand attachment replaced or repaired.

I bought myself a Christmas present a couple of weeks ago. It is a Kitchen Aid food processor attachment that I ordered from The Shopping Channel and in Sunday, it was delivered. I opened it and checked the contents carefully.

The food pusher has a problem. It is a 2 pc unit but I cannot get the smaller tube out so it can be used for such small items as a single carrot, celery, etc.

First I called The Shopping Channel who told me they could replace the unit but I would have to send this one back (and wait for them to receive it before they would mail out the replacement. The problem with this is that I would have to pay for the cost of the return and it would be quite expensive.

So next I called Kitchen Aid direct and they said they would be happy to send me just the one part that is currently not working. But first she suggested that I soak the pusher in hot water, which I did, several times, but I could not get the two pieces apart.

So tomorrow I will call them again so they can send me the replacement part. I hope it won't take too long to receive this part as I really need this part because of my arthritis, I have difficulty using a knife anymore and this will slice, shred (both fine and medium) jullienne and dice. No more slipped knives and cut fingers!

    What a pain. I hate it when I buy something new and it is defective. I hope you get this lined out soon.
