Avoiding Thanksgiving Calories

Friday, November 29, 2019

And I avoided those calories in a not-so-very-fun way. Stomach Bug. I knew I was getting sick about 10pm Wednesday and sure enough I was right. I think I saw two hours awake the next 36. Today I'm able to stay up longer periods of time, but still wanting sleep. I think the most enjoyable part of being holed away for the holiday was listening to Tim, Maegann and Isaac trying to create a Thanksgiving meal for their first time solo. Whatever would we do without Google! LOL

Tonight is our tradition of watching White Christmas and getting the tree decorated. I believe I will just stay on the sofa and enjoy it all. I've made it awake for about two hours, but I'm ready to crash again and will do that soon.

The boy front is always a fluid subject in our house. The most recent one, Chris, is on the way out. After spending so much time together the past two weeks Maegann has acknowledged that they are just way too different between cultures and beliefs. She is now trying to figure out how to nicely "let him go". And in the mix of all of this she has realized that Jeff, the very first boy to come on the scene two years ago, is who she has been running from all this time. I guess they are officially "promising" themselves to each other and honestly that news did not come as a surprise to me or Tim. He was an answer to prayer two years ago and has always been around through all her ups and downs. She also told her dad last night that she has been praying again (since Chris) and some memory loss has come back in a positive way. This morning she texted me asking how soon we might have extra $ so she can go back to her natural color. I think her experimenting and rebellion may be seeing an end point. On my knees!

Tomorrow I hope to feel well enough to go to the bank to make a much needed deposit for the mortgage payment and maybe work on the Christmas letter. After my initial list of events for the year where I found out we were pretty boring this year I didn't do anything. Oops!

This is all an answer to prayer and a learning experience for the entire family!!! Hey, they learned how to make Thanksgiving and decorate the tree with you on the sidelines. This also helped them with their coping skills, compassion, nurturing, and planning skills. This is wonderful!!!!

WOW!!! Maegann, is really finding her true self by letting the Lord back in and Chris was a part of that puzzle and that's fantastic!!!! Girl, it's all about being faithful and constantly praying!!!!

I am sorry that you're not feeling well, but that was part of the plan that God had for a STUPENDOUS outcome for this Thanksgiving day for you and your family and friends. Get some R E S T and you will R E C O V E R nicely!!!!

    God is good!!!!!

Maegann will work through it all at her pace as you are experiencing. I know you'll keep being the supportive mom that you have always been. Finding my adult children need me more than I thought they would.
