Flavor -

I was worried that going meatless was going to lack flavor. I live in the deep south and most people add animal fat to their cooked vegetables.
But then, I realized that people coat their meat with sauce; hot sauce, BBQ, honey mustard, salsa, chow chow, ketchup, steak sauce, etc. The sauces are quite literally the flavors of fruits and vegetables. If I find my food is lacking flavor or texture it is a lack of imagination.
I am just trying to be openminded and make sure that I consider different flavors and how they work together.
I am making acorn squash with wild rice stuffing, green beans, mixed green salad, sweet potatoes, roasted turnips, cranberry sauce, with a pumpkin & oat desert. I will also cook a small turkey for family members.
