Baby Shower

There was a baby shower this afternoon. The anticipated birth date is in January. Even though the baby has not arrived, I'm calling the parents, new parents now instead of waiting for the birth. I only met the new parents twice before; one of those two times was last night at supper. The new dad is related to my son-in-law. There were conversations, games, and food included during the shower. I won the diaper raffle; the prize was candy and a Starbucks gift card, so I gave all that to my son-in-law. Celebrating new life is fun.
I got to meet a few new people today, and visit with some that I met previously. Watching the new parents open their gifts was a lot of fun. Seeing all the cute little clothes and the non-clothing items, including some that were handmade for the little one was very special. The joy displayed on the faces of the new parents was priceless. Unfortunately, I forgot my phone at home so I didn't get any photos.
