5% Challenge Day 48
Thursday, November 21, 2019
No, I haven't been AWOL from my team or the challenge. However, as with so many of my attempts to keep a journal, diary, or daily log, I fall behind, and dread trying to catch up. My OCD tendencies make it hard to not have a "perfect" numerical series, so I usually give it up completely. I dislike those inconsistent or broken patterns.
Fortunately, I'm better about returning to my exercise than I am to blogging. I gave blogging a try, and it's not helpful to me personally. Lesson learned.
The good news is that I read a motivating article in the NYT by the runner Amby Burfoot, checked the link to his most recent book, read the preview section, and now wait for the book to arrive. Something clicked in his book's introduction that reminded me why I still run and want to continue to run.
I had a great, slow, enjoyable run along the river trail this morning. My point is, I guess, that what motivates each of us is rather unpredictable, yet it presents itself when we least expect to feel motivated.
It's one of those precious moments of grace.
