The kitchen

Saturday, November 16, 2019

Yesterday I had purchased some Old English at Lowe's & so today I tackled the kitchen cabinets. Since I hate housework & used to either hire a housekeeper or had my stepdaughter helping, I was trying to recall if I had ever before cleaned & polished wooden cabinetry. Now w/ the house repainted I figured it was time to go to the next level. Normally I would hire a crew but it didn't take long, about an hour to do them all including inside the doors. The wood really shines again & the grain is highlighted once more. I can appreciate them even tho they are not my style but they are in good condition, especially considering they have been in use 45 years. That's a long time & these are not solid wood nor top of the line; just builder grade but at a much higher standard years ago. Most but not all have been emptied, so I also started working on the refrigerator gasket. Just scrubbed it with a wet toothbrush but it's a start. All this cleanliness will show that the house was well maintained which it was when it came to the big stuff. I'm not going to miss this dusty valley at all. I swear it gets dusty before you can get thru the whole place. At least now it will smell like lemons.πŸ‹
