Monday, Monday

Monday, Monday, here you are again,
It seems like it was yesterday, that you were here,
At least it snowed last night, and wasn't rain.
But hoping it will soon disappear.
And harvest will soon regain.

Yes, we did get a couple of inches of snow last night, with it only in the teens it is going to stick around at least today, so no harvest and hubby can have another day of getting a much needed nap. So this morning he went to the local Veteran Days remembrance put on by the elementary students. He did ask if I wanted to go with him, and I begged off, as I really wasn't in the mood to get out for a production at 8 am. even if it was for coffee and donuts, and then a program afterwards. He did say that there was probably more parents of the students putting it on than there were service people who served. With the WWII vets so few, and there is still the stigma of the Viet Nam protests there just isn't many around. The younger one's just don't come at all.

Yesterday, as hard as I tried, I never did get that nap. But I did rest. Even the Hallmark movie didn't help, so that didn't last very long, and back to watching Steven Kings, "It". Some difference, right. But those Hallmark movie do absolutely nothing for me, and usually do put me to sleep, but not yesterday. I again today, I am the only breathing thing in the house that is not sleeping. Oops, got that wrong, Shorty is over there washing his feet, I'll say one thing about him, he is always cleaning cleaning cleaning. Never seen a kitten that spent so much time cleaning himself. Merlin should pay attention to him and do a little pamper himself.

Take care and have a GET day. My Missions for the day is cleaning up the Kitchen and baking another pumpkin for the freezer, and baking some 104 calorie pumpkin muffins. something to use for snacking. Yummmmm Linda

Robert and I went to his cardiologist appointment and then for a late lunch at Chili's. They were giving a free entree for vets and active service.
Robert was in during the Nam conflict. Stationed at weapons depot in Germany.

Going to try this for my hubby. He loves pumpkin. Not me so it won't be a trigger for me. Thanks for the recipe. For some reason again I didn't get this blog. I now know better and check out the people who I read regularly.

We got the snow too, see your Sunday blog. I wrote about it there.

Take car and have a super night.

Started snowing here in the wee hours and kept it up most of the day. Huh, I thought it had stopped, but I just looked out the window and it's coming down again. At the car dealer for an oil change and still need to shovel the driveway when I get home.

I actually love watching the Hallmark movies but I'm always doing other things while watching. They're easy enough that I don't have to pay too much attention!

I attended both the HS and MS Veteran's Day programs - mostly because I was playing the piano for the choirs. Our local legions are there every year.

104 cal pumpkin muffins? Recipe please? I love pumpkin in almost anything. I have a big hard pumpkin-like squash to bake so I can do something with it. My little elderly kitty needed some tidying up yesterday. I learned that the roughness of a cat's tongue gets smoother with age so they can't wash as well. She has long fur that gets knotted easily nowadays so I trimmed some knots, combed out a few more, and gave her a good brushing. I trimmed all but two of Grayce's claws and two paws worth of Mickey's. Neither of them like it, but they both were sticking in the carpet and furniture. So much for that nap. I didn't get one either, but besides fun time with my sister and my friend, I got a lot done including mopping the floors. Those cats, all three of them, fling their wet food and dry food all over the floor. I stuck their water dish in the dishwasher because one of them had flung some dry bits in there too. My little senior is having litterbox issues, so I did a laundry load of the covers we've put on the places she finds convenient. I think she forgets where to go, and when she does have to go, it's urgent, just like senior humans.
