Friday, November 08, 2019
November is Diabetes Awareness Month.
Educate, Advocate and Cure
For the month of November, I will be posting a fact a day to help raise awareness of Diabetes.
Fact # 8
Hypoglycemia: blood sugar less than 70.
When blood sugars are low symptoms can be anxiety, shaking, sweating, confusion, hunger, seizures, unconsciousness, and even death. Some people may even have no symptoms until they are unconscious.
It’s very important for someone with diabetes to always have food available for a low blood sugar. They can happen from taking too much insulin, not eating enough, exercise or extra activity, and for no reason at all.
My niece took cases of these Juicy Juice boxes and bags of Skittles to college for lows.
