woo hoo it's Friday

Friday, November 08, 2019

Happy Friday, everyone. Hope you all are having a good day. Another cool one here, but at least in the high 20's, but the wind is really kicking up, so it feels a lot cooler than yesterday, when it was only 2 when I did chores. Well, everything went really well they the horses and goats this morning. I called the goats over by the usual place they are fed and 6 of then came running around the little horse barn and into their pen, but of course 3 didn't, but as I walked over to the little hole in the fence here they came, so in less than 3 minutes they were fed, and satisfied, and then to the horses, of course they were stand in the little horse barn with the hay but as I walked around the barn here they came to their usual place, so again 3 minutes and they were eating, so I think for now they may have figured it out. But who knows about tomorrow when you are trying to train animals to a new situation.

Larry is in the field again, hopeful it will all work today, and they can get a lot done. Should be done with harvest sometime next week, and then it will be time to settle down for the long winter and only have to worry about keeping the drive way open. And of course for me, it will be picking the right day to do the grocery shopping. That said I know either this afternoon or tomorrow I have to go, as we are getting low on milk, and Heaven forbid we run out, and Larry can't have his Frosted Flakes for breakfast. hahahahahaha

Today for me it is doing some laundry and calling the vet to schedule a time to get the Kits stitches out, and when I called was told that they were absorbing stitches and didn't need taken out. I kind of wondered about that, but the sheet of direction I got when I brought them home definitely states in 10 to 14 days they need to come back and have the stitches taken out. So was just following the direction, the reception did say that she knows that is what the aftercare sheet says, and that they usually makes sure that they tell you about NOT having to bring them back. but did ask her about Kinney having a bit of swelling at her site, but was told that can be normal and just keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn't get any bigger. Just might be a little scar tissue from the surgery. We will see.

You all take care and have a GET day. Linda

It is cold here also. Not as cold as you but it is going to get colder. although it says that it's still Fall on the calendar I think it feels winter to me. We have a snow storm coming sometime next week according to the not always right weather forecasters. I'm hoping they are wrong on this one, because I am totally and absolutely not ready for winter. It just came too fast, and this year is just flying by. Already Christmas stuff in stores, and sales and such. Just way too fast for me.

Hope you stay warm and the animals learn the new routine. Have a great day and I hope the harvest continues on schedule. I thank people like you and your brother in law. People don't realize that they should be so thankful for farmers. I have a cousin in Iowa whose husband is a cattle broker. They grow their own feed and such, and do breeding of the cattle. You and them put the food on my table everyday. Again, thanks for you. emoticon

We were frozen this morning. I don't like it because it means I have to defrost my car before work and I never leave myself enough time for that one extra step! But the ice wore off as the day wore on and it was nice and sunny. Sounds like you have a good set up going for feeding your livestock...I'm sure they like their cozy barn breakfast every morning. I remember having to haul 5 gallon buckets of water from the laundry room sink out to my horse every morning after the temps dropped down below freezing back when I was a kid. They were heavy!

How did the harvesting go. Cold weather to be outside all day. Do the harvest machines have enclosed cabs?

The vet's office probably has a bunch of the instruction sheets already printed and they will just use them until they are gone instead of paying to get new ones printed.

Sounds like winter has gotten going. I'll be happy to have a slightly cooler weekend here. Cooler in Florida is only relative to the usual hot. Our Grayce had some swelling when she was "done", but try keeping a kitten calm. I don't know when I'm going to get shopping and cooking done since I have some fun plans for the weekend. Enjoy yours; glad the animals are cooperating so far.
