November 8, 2019 IN TIMES OF TROUBLE
All of us have something we want to do in our lives. We may have a wish list, bucket list, dream board, or whatever we want to call it. Some things can be achieved pretty quickly while others take some time. Some dreams we put off and some we go after right away. However, no matter how big our dream list is, there are going to be times when we get stopped dead in our tracks. Life happens. Issues come along in our finances, health, work, or relationships and we get knocked for a loop. We not only lose our focus but we lose our desire to keep going. God knows we are going to have down days. The key is not stay down. The quicker we can accept it happened, learn from it and move on, the better we will be able to accomplish our goals. And remember…God is always ready to help us times of trouble.
2 Corinthians 1:8b-10 “We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself. Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us,” (NIV)
1. Write what you troubles you have had.
2. List how you dealt with them.
3. Know God wants to help you.
4. Remember to go to Him in times of trouble.
Dear Lord, we know we need help from You in all things. However, when our life stands still due to troubles in life, help us to remember to lean on You. We know we need to get into Your word to prepare us for hard times. We want to remember You are the most important part of our lives and only You can help us through hard times and get us back and focused on doing Your will. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
We are to reach out to God in times of trouble and He will teach us and put us back on the right track.
Job 11:13-16 “Put your heart right, Job. Reach out to God. Put away evil and wrong from your home. Then face the world again, firm and courageous. Then all your troubles will fade from your memory, like floods that are past and remembered no more.” (GNT)
When we are thankful in all circumstances, God will help us see clearly through any and all situations.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 “Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.” (NLT)
God wants to protect us and give us strength in times of trouble.
Psalm 46:1 “God is our protection and our strength. He always helps in times of trouble.” (NCV)
