Still going strong - Down 53+ lbs!

I have never maintained a new way of eating this long in my life - and I am not tempted to change at all. These last few months, I have felt like the weight is just melting off of me and I haven't felt deprived a single time. My weight loss has been slow & steady - which is just what I want because it has a better chance of remaining off of my body that way.
Getting rid of sugar and processed carbs has been life changing. Granted - the first 10 days were a little tough - but there were some "crutches" that I used to help me through that time. Mostly - I used a Keto Fat Bomb when I felt like I just had to have something sweet - and because those are sweetened with erythitol, I was still maintaining a low carb count but helping my body work through the withdrawal.
And it was truly a withdrawal - I was completely addicted to sugar. The more I had, the more I wanted. It was nothing for me to eat cookies and ice cream and cake every single day. Add a sandwich at lunch and rolls or biscuits to dinner and I averaged well over 300 carbs per day. I am now averaging about 15-20 carbs per day - and those carbs come from the vegetables I eat.
I had one instance where I wanted a true French crepe while traveling. I chose one with blueberry and chocolate. I felt horrible for 3 days after eating it. My body wasn't used to sugar any longer and it rebelled. Fortunately - it was a lesson and now, I use it as a reminder that I never want to feel that way again.
I appreciate the team here at SparkPeople for always being here with support and encouragement. Just know that there is a plan out there that will work for you - it may not be the plan I follow (Intermittent fasting & low carb) - but there is one. You got this - don't give up! I am so glad that I didn't.
