Meeting my Goals!

It's a long road to reach my goals! I am working to control Type 2 Diabetes mainly through food and exercise. I realize that while I cannot control my genetics, I can understand the pitfalls of my parents, and adjust my path. SparkPeople helps me to stay on track with meeting those goals, and have a good time as I do it!
1. Exercise: Walk, bike, hike, and swim. My Fitbit helps me to understand when I have reached the 10K steps a day. Somedays I am more active than others, and somedays I only think that I'm getting in the steps. The Fitbit doesn't lie. I only have to remember to keep it charged, and put it on each morning. I have a friend with a pool, and on Wednesdays, I swim. My bike is going away for the winter, but I love to bike.
2. Food: I eat low carb and low sugar diet. It is the Mediterranean Diet, and it works well for me. I have explored the Keto Diet, but since my doctor doesn't recommend it, I shy away from it.
3. Tracking my progress: I use the Spark trackers every day. I also keep the following Spark Challenges going: Fitness Feats, Food Feats, and Goal Feats. Each one helps me to track a certain area of my goals and reminds me of what I REALLy want to do.
