Progress Report, and Eagle Crest Hike

Friday, November 01, 2019

Yay! I met my goal of losing 5 pounds in October. I am down 37 pounds since rebooting my program and starting WW in mid-February. WW is working for me and I am very happy. I still need to lose weight, but I am making progress. I did very well at meeting my 10,000 steps per day goal. I averaged over 11,000 steps; and I met the daily 10,000 steps goal on 29 days out of 31.

I had my annual physical exam yesterday, and I was very pleased that my cholesterol was down by 25 points. My overall number is still a little high, but that is because my HDL (good cholesterol) is very high. Triglycerides are back to normal. My doctor is pleased with my results.

I hiked with my friends Hanne and Pat along the River trail at Eagle Crest. It was great spending time with two very good friends, both of whom were traveling for several weeks. And the muted fall colors were lovely along the river.

The view below of the aspen leaves was taken through a knothole in the old Juniper tree.

Despite our recent sub zero temperatures, a few hardy asters were still blooming.

After our hike, we visited an art gallery at Eagle crest. I expected the usual landscape photography and pottery that iare the usual fare in our local arts galleries. Instead, the artist painted colorful and interesting symbolic oils. He was painting in his studio, while his wife ran the store. Here’s a link to his page, But I’m not sure that the computer thumbnails capture the color or the message from his paintings.

I hope you all have a great week ahead, and success in your journey towards good health.

This is wonderful news, a real success story. I was not aware you were following WW. It has worked for me in the past but I stubbornly refuse to pony up the fees. I wonder about points , or is it another scheme now ? I may look into it at some point-
