Halloween (revisited)

Friday, November 01, 2019

No candy - Zero - I totally stayed on plan. No idea how I did that with all these calories floating around my office. Big heaping bowls full, all ready to pass out to the trick or treater's that were scheduled to come last night. I myself, live out in the woods so no one comes to our door on Halloween. Therefore it was easy to avoid candy at home and we don't have any in the house - with the exception of the one that my niece dropped by to give me last night (which is still on the counter) The office didn't get as many people stopping by as usual so there is still candy here at every turn.

That is not to say however that the night went by without TREATS. I took myself to Shoe Depot and bought a pair of New Balance. They are not flashy or classy just plain white and boring but I bought colored shoe laces to brighten them up a bit. Your suppose to buy new sneakers every six months or so but I haven't bought any in close to a year in a half so it was time. My old ones looked ratty and the insides were worn in a way that they were not giving me needed support.

Finding shoes in very difficult. I need an arch support. Memory foam doesn't work for me. Also the shoes need to be leather or breathable material and they can not be netting. Again, I live in the woods so that is just asking for a boat load of sand under my toes. That may not sound like huge requests but virtually everything is memory foam now and if it is not then the soul is completely flat like converse. Very painful to a person with a hip replacement. I thought about orthotics but they are expensive and need to be replaced often.

Maybe later in life.
